What does the Office of the Registrar Do?
The Office of the Registrar provides
services to both students and the college community.
Services for Students
Throughout your college career - before, during, and even
after - the Office of the Registrar will be one of your primary sources for
academic student services and information.
The Office of the Registrar:

Oversees admissions, academic
scheduling (including examinations), registration, graduation, articulation,
and transfer of credit, academic records and transcripts, and related
correspondence with students
·
Ensures the interpretation and
effective implementation of academic policies
·
Evaluates applications for admission,
and communicates admission or readmission decisions to applicants
·
Maintains an accurate and complete
record of each student's academic progress and provides official transcripts
and certification of these records, consistent with the college student record privacy
policy
·
Provides online student services
through CrossRoad

Administers special registrations,
which include Open Studies
·
Confirms enrolment for student loan
purposes
·
Collects, verifies and records all
final grades in credit courses
·
Assesses undergraduate and graduate
tuition and general fees
·
Compiles course listings and develops
a timetable of course offerings
·
Compiles a conflict-free timetable of
examinations at the end of each semester
·
Publishes the Academic Calendar
containing admission requirements, academic regulations, schedules and
deadlines, programs of study, degree and graduation requirements, course
listings for both undergraduate and graduate students
·
Evaluates students for graduation,
maintains degree audits, produces degree parchments
·
Administers Intersession and Summer
studies, evening credit and off-campus programming
Services to the College Community
The Registrar’s Office provides the following services to
the college community:

Administers the college’s admission
and student record policies in conjunction with the Faculty Council and the
Admissions and Evaluations Committee
·
Provides advice and recommendations
to Faculty Council and the Admissions and Evaluations Committee
·
Provides advice and recommendations
for recruitment activities including special events such as career fairs, open
houses, and sessions for teachers
·
Manages the college’s student record
system
·
Maintains the listing of course
offerings for each academic semester in cooperation with teaching departments,
and develops a timetable of the course offerings
·
Provides classroom booking services,
and arranges for appropriate space and facilities for the writing of
examinations
·
Administers examination policies and
grading procedures
·
Develops the Academic Schedule for
publication in the Academic Calendar
·
Generates and distributes official
college admission and enrolment statistics
·
Assists the fee collection process by
withholding of certification for non-payment of debts owing to the college
·
Administers the college’s scheduling
and registration policies
·
Coordinates the processes associated
with the registration of students in courses to maintain control of class
enrolments to approved limits or other designated restrictions
·
Responds to inquiries regarding both
Canadian and international education systems
·
