Announcement: Newman Theological College Faculty Awarded Prestigious Research Scholarship

Newman Theological College professor, Dr. Stéphane Saulnier has been awarded a generous scholarship from the Canadian Friends of the Ecole Biblique – to use towards room and board at the École Biblique et Archéologique Française in Jerusalem for a research visit in the Winter term of 2023 (February-May). Saulnier's trip to Jerusalem is part of a year-long sabbatical awarded by NTC. He will be conducting research on the Gospel of John and the First Letter of John.

"I am very grateful to the école biblique in Jerusalem for welcoming me in Winter 2023 for a research visit, and to the Canadian Friends of the Ecole Biblique for their generous award of a scholarship towards room and board. Without their financial support, such a trip would not be possible. It will be a dream come true to be able to do research on the Gospel and the First Letter of John in the fantastic library of this prestigious center of Catholic biblical studies during my sabbatical from Newman Theological College. I have no doubt that the experience will deeply enrich my understanding of Sacred Scripture and benefit the entire Newman community and the Archdiocese of Edmonton. God's providence knows no bounds!" Saulnier said.
