Newman Theological College (NTC) is pleased to announce an exciting collaborative agreement with the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton (UCEE) to support the development of programming in Eastern Christian Theology (ECT).

Dr. Jo-Ann Badley, Interim President of NTC (left), and Most Rev. David Motiuk, Bishop of UCEE, signing the collaborative agreement.
·
As of
fall 2024, NTC has designed and introduced 26 courses related to ECT. Four of
these were offered and well-enrolled this past fall. Five other
courses will be available for study in the January 2025 semester.
·
With the
support of the UCEE, NTC will hire a new area expert theologian to join
the NTC faculty in the fall of 2025 to support ECT programming and development.
·
In the
spring of 2026, NTC will officially launch the new programming in ECT by
inviting a world-renowned expert in the field to deliver the Anthony Jordan
Lecture, one of only two named lectures at NTC.
The UCEE’s Evangelization Fund made
the partnership possible, including a legacy gift from Drs. Peter and Doris
Kule, to the Foundation of Saint
Joseph Seminary & Newman Theological
College.
Drs. Peter and Doris Kule were two
outstanding Canadian philanthropists, visionaries, and community leaders.

Celebrating the agreement are, from
