Newman Theological College announces an exciting new international partnership with St. Mary’s University, Twickenham (London). This strategic collaboration positions Newman Theological College to rapidly establish itself as one of North America’s premier Catholic graduate schools of theology.

Founded in 1850, St. Mary’s University is a Catholic institution with approximately 7,000 students and renowned strengths in theology, education, medicine, and sport sciences. Like Newman Theological College, St. Mary’s University is deeply committed to excellence in teaching and research in Catholic higher education.

The partnership revolves around three key areas of collaboration which reflect the shared mission of both institutions to advance rigorous Catholic theological teaching and scholarship on the international stage:

-Enhanced faculty development opportunities for NTC faculty members, including doctoral supervision, research presentations, participation in St. Mary’s University annual summer PhD residential in London, and faculty exchanges

-The joint establishment of an international Eastern Christian theology research institute with bases in London (UK) and Edmonton

-A direct pathway for NTC graduates into St. Mary’s University rapidly-growing distance PhD in Catholic Studies
